Father Allan is a native of Wisconsin and as a seminarian attended Pontifical College Josephinum, Columbus OH and Dominican House of Studies, Washington D.C. The movie “A Man Called Peter” was an influence to him in answering his personal call to the ministry. On September 12, 1986, he was ordained as a priest and has been serving the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau for over 30 years. He has been the pastor of St. Mary Cathedral and Old St. Vincent Chapel for over eleven years. As pastor, Father coordinates the mission of Old St. Vincent’s as a religious, cultural center. Father Allan enjoys walking and reading during his leisure time. Father Allan often shares his passion for history in his homilies, thus awakening souls through the lives of those who have gone before us such as Saint Alphonsus Liguori, his favorite saint. Isaiah 38, “O God Your faithfulness,” is an inspirational scripture passage for him and he would advise any young man considering seminary to “always follow what God wants you to do.”
