Becky Weidenbenner has been the librarian at St. Mary Cathedral School for five years. Just by simply stepping foot into the school library, she knew that it is where she wanted to be. She has a Master of Arts in English from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an English major and an art minor from Southeast Missouri State University. The most valuable lesson she has learned from her education is that, “Sometimes education is noisy, and that’s okay.” Rich Allen and his book, “Impact Teaching,’ was her biggest influence in her profession. She appreciates working at St. Mary’s school because she gets to spend her day with wonderful students while being surrounded by books. Three words that describe her work, “books, books, books!” Her favorite hobbies are sewing and reading, with her greatest author being James Rollins. She enjoys listening to 70s rock. Her favorite travel destination is Walt Disney World and favorite outdoor activity is swimming. She is married to Edgar and they have two children, Jacob and Cecily. The household also has two beagles named Stella and Coco. One of her favorite quotes is by Yoda, “The greatest teacher, failure is.”
