Mrs. Mary Santana teaches the second grade students. She has been teaching at St. Mary Cathedral School since 1984! She received a Bachelor in Science degree in Elementary Education at Southeast Missouri State University. She recognizes the importance in trying alternative ways of teaching. Her students have been the biggest influence on her career in education, which defines her in what and who she is. Teaching makes her happy. Mrs. Santana is married to Martin, who also works at the school, in maintenance. Together they have two children, Noah and Laura, and a cat named Botas. A favorite travel destination of hers is Mexico. She enjoys reading, cooking, and caring for her garden. She also has a zeal for participating in Adoration at the St. Francis Chapel during her past time. She is passionate about social justice and her favorite music genre is Christmas music. One of her favorite quotes is, “Thy will, not my will.”
