Safe Environment Requirements:

The Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau prioritizes the safety of our students. Therefore, all adult volunteers are required to complete the following Safe Environment process:

  1. Background Check: This is a standard procedure to ensure the safety of our students.
  2. Online Training (Virtus): This training helps volunteers understand and maintain a safe environment for children. You can complete this online through Virtus Online.
  3. Code of Conduct Acknowledgement Form: This form outlines the expected behavior and ethical standards for all volunteers.

Maintaining Approved Volunteer Status:

To remain an active volunteer, you will need to complete an annual training and sign the Code of Conduct form each year. Background checks are also rerun every four years. These requirements can conveniently be completed through Virtus Online. Once approved, you are welcome to volunteer at St. Mary Catholic School.
